Saturday, September 8

Nick and Randy both had soccer games today, rain was threatening all day but we didn't get any to speak of.
Nick won his game what a great job he did, then we brought him home. He wanted to help his mom get ready for the block party. Jan and her neighbor organized the first on their street in 30 years, and what a wonderful job, there were about 50 people there, everything was just perfect, lots of food and fun, neighbors having a great time. I'm so proud of Jan, she does a wonderful job with parties and entertaining, just like Jill did.
Randy's team tied the score but he scored his first goal of the year, what a little team player he is, runs his little heart out.
Nick and Floyd played for the block party, and I just can't believe what a great job he does on those drums, he is quite talented.
Randy, dad and his brothers went to Harley night in the park and I worked in the garage trying to finish up some things.
I am working on these sculpey roses, and going to make ornies out of them, they are looking pretty good.
Will take a pic soon.

Wednesday News

Today I checked the thrift store cause it was 1/2 price day, what a packed place, but find that I get better deals the day before, found two tablecloths, and some odds and ends that I can use.
Had the boys yesterday, so didn't get much done, but today after thrift store went past my uncles and they had moved him into assisted living, cousins were cleaning out the house, throwing things away, I stopped for a plate I had left after my aunt died and left with a couple old oil cans, a railroad lantern, a beautiful picture that hung over their fireplace as long as I can remember, two old watering cans, a Baldwin brass candlestick, they are just pitching everything, so sad to see someones whole life just disposed of.
Did some paperwork, burned old receipts in the chimnea tonight and did a little painting. Finished painting on some stitcheries, painted some wooden thingamabobs so I can put the sculpey roses I made on them, think they look great and will take them to the Victorian Room to the little shop they have there.
Tomorrow, hope to paint more, have some pillows to finish, will post pics soon.

Happy Labor Day

Today is Labor Day, it is to honor laborers. So happy Labor Day to all out there.
No picnic today but going to Olive Garden w/ Mom and Dad. Trying to do a little crafting today.
Have been making roses out of sculpey clay, think I will try and make some ornies with them.
Have lots to do today, a little cleaning, a little washing, a little creating.
Weather is just beautiful must take the time to enjoy that too.
Have a lot of things to put on eBay, lots of doilies and shabby items, just waiting for template to be finished, then I can get started, so much stuff.
Don't think any thrift shops are open today, Oh no! What will I do.
Just have to bite the bullet and wait till tomorrow.

Finally back to me

I am finally taking the time to work on this blog, so many other things take my attention. Just told my mil I have the attention span of a five year old. Jumping from one thing to another, but when I am finished, I have lots of stuff done at one time.
Garage sales, thrifting, that takes time away from my creating.
Hubby wants to go to Fl. for a wk. and take the golf cart, but I am trying to get the neighbor guy to go with him, so I can stay home and craft a while longer.
We have to be there at the beginning of Oct. for Biketoberfest, cause I have to run the kitchen at the park, not alone, mind you but with a lot of help. License to get food to order, yada yada yada.
Today I am supposed to be cleaning, but as you can see here I sit.
Boys will be calling, "come get us gram" and I will run, hubby is at car show with the neighbor so I have a little time.
Love this retirement, but still need some me time.
Will get back soon.
